Following discussions between the committee this week we have taken the decision to scrap the annual subscription for the club for the 2020 season. This decision has been made due to the continued uncertainty around when we will be able to return to playing cricket and the potential restrictions that will be in place when we do return. This includes all seniors annuals and junior memberships. Those parents that have already paid for junior memberships will be contacted individually for this to be refunded back to yourselves. If we return to playing this season, weekly subscriptions will still be paid and a price for this will be decided as and when we know about the type and amount of cricket which is set to be played. The All Stars and Dynamos programs are run through the ECB websites and no decisions have been made on these schemes yet and the message to all parents who have signed up or thinking of signing up is the plan is to deliver these later in the year but is all subject to change.
Obviously, this has massive financial implications to the club with continued work and investment still been carried out on the playing surface and maintenance of equipment and machinery. Therefore, we have set up a crowd funding page which can be found at www.spacehive.com/hesslecricketclub1838 and would kindly ask if members would be willing to donate part of their subscriptions that would have been paid into this to help us continue our investments for the future during these difficult times. Please contact club secretary Steven Cooper on 07894084310 or at the club email address firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Finally, Following advice from the ECB today we can confirm that you are allowed to play cricket on the field at the club providing it is with your own household or with yourself and 1 other person providing social distancing rules are followed. The net at the club is open but with it been completely open to the public we cannot facilitate a booking system for this, therefore please respect others by only using the net for an hour at a time to allow others to use. Finally, if you are playing cricket or any other sports at the club please keep off the playing surface surrounded by the white poles.
Thank you as always from the committee and stay safe.
